Gilding WORKSHOPS

Looking for that perfect Christmas gift for someone that loves gold, but want to make it yourself? This course is for you and just in time for Christmas!

You'll learn the traditional art of mirror-finish water gilding, taking home a bespoke gift made with the finest genuine 24ct gold leaf - and have fun whilst doing it!

The One Day Gilding Workshop consists of :-

• An introduction into the materials, tools and techniques.

• Glass gilding a letter of your choice to take home (worth £120)**

• Surface Gilding introduction; gilding with loose leaf gold onto a carved object.

Teas and coffee will be provided throughout. We’ll even finish the day with a beer. All materials (circa £80/person) provided.

The workshops all take place at Kitchener Hall Longniddry, East Lothian: easily accessible via train, bus or car. The day will start at 9am, finishing at 5pm, with a short lunch break.

**Square 120x120mm single pane glass, black outline letterform and one colour background. Other techniques i.e. paint marbling and blending will be demonstrated, but due to time constraints your letters will have one/two colour backgrounds.
